Have an Eco-diesel powered 1500 or rebel and want to upgrade to an aftermarket bumper? Well too bad you'll get a check engine light ... until now, thanks to this VICE Design Kit!

Use our simple kit allows you to remove the active grill shutters, located in the Bumper, from your RAM 1500 or Rebel equipped with the new EcoDiesel Engine. Simply unplugging the bumper's grill shutters will result in a Check Engine Light (CEL). This kit allows you to remove the large grill shutters assembly that block air flow to your intercooler, without throwing a CEL. 

Includes a grill shutter motor mounting bracket, all the hardware to mount the shutter motor, and detailed instructions. 

Our MOD V2 bumper even has a dedicated mounting spot for this bracket, tucked neatly inside the bumper where it plugs into the OEM harness.

How it works:

Its more than a mount to hold the motor. When you power on your truck, the grill shutters perform some movement checks to ensure they are not jammed or stuck. There's an allowable range of motion and if the motor turns more or less than what is allowable, it will throw a code. Thanks to development work we've done with these trucks, we've determined the allowable range of movement, and this kit duplicates that perfectly. 

Compatibility:

Vehicles equipped with the 3rd Generation 3.0L Ecodiesel Engine. This came in 2020 and newer vehicles including the RAM 1500 and Rebel.

This kit only removes the grill shutters located in the BUMPER of 2020 and newer trucks. This kit is NOT for the grill shutters located between the headlights.

We don't have a kit available for the radiator grill shutters found on all non-Ecodiesel trucks.
